Big Green Hike 2023

The Big Green Hike has returned, and the SSN are digging their walking boots out for another hike across sunny (fingers crossed) Leicestershire! This year, we’re fundraising for Heal Rewilding, a charity dedicated to restoring biodiversity in nature-deprived ecosystems across the UK!
THE FUNDRAISER:Let’s try to raise as much money as we can for this great charity! Like last year, we’re asking all participants to donate £5 to join on the walk, and to spread the fundraiser link to friends/families/departments! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/biggreenssnhike
THE ROUTE:Our hike (5-6 hours, around 20 km) will take us around the Leicestershire countryside, checking out the natural beauty of Charnwood Geopark, and stopping for lunch along the way.

WHAT TO BRING:The walk is fairly long, and there aren’t many chances to buy food or drink along the way. Likewise, the weather can be pretty unpredictable in April. Make sure you bring:
– Walking boots
– Warm clothing and a waterproof jacket (just in case)
– Plenty of water, packed lunch and snacks!
